Thank god for Diaspora. I wonder how come Australian papers are saturated with covid (fair enough) and stupid Abbott and other idiot politicians and their games and not how our planet is being #plundered and #trashed by greedy petrol barons that line their pockets with millions but run the tankers to the ground socialising their disgusting #pollution and the inevitable #disasters. Yet, none of the barons seems to ever be sued for damages/costs or ever held accountable in any way. I mean their staff are often reported to not have been paid for months and are basically held to ransom as they cannot afford to get off the vessels and get on with their lives… Ever hear of any (owners and ceo’s of these #tanker empires) landing in jail?

Another worry is how everything is put forward in human inconvenience or costs… case in point loss of tourism, losses to the fishing industry and so on. Let’s flip it from the other point of view… as a fish say a dolphin residing in those waters all of the sudden is driven to serious health disaster by coating in that sludge, cant breathe and all the food sources have been poisoned. Surfacing is out of the question as more poison is ingested and lathered on the skin, yet, all the media is reporting is loss of profits to some remote legal entity called company, loss of income for the humans wanting to go out and stare and swim at the fish or sit there on the sand accumulating skin cancers. What a bizarre situation. Never a spot of mention to the untold suffering imposed from everything from whales through smaller fish through crabs, seaweeds to plankton and corals if any. None. None of that rates even a single line, birdlife? nope. If this wasn’t so typical and normalised we may not have had this situation develop at all as people could not bare causing such catastrophes and would not only string up those behind it all and would them selves scramble to get off petrol cars… not that electric cars are devoid of such atrocities - just lookup lithium slave mining camps… #Walking or #bike ride anyone?
